8. The LORD is compassionate
and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
9. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10. he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to
our iniquities.
11. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love
for those who fear him;
12. as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions
from us.
13. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion
on those who fear him;
14. for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
59. While they were stoning
him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
60. Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this
sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.
29. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only
what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that
it may benefit those who listen.
30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed
for the day of redemption.
31. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along
with every form of malice.
32. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just
as in Christ God forgave you.
